“I am a strong supporter of same sex marriage,” Javitch explains, “and one day I realized that there weren’t any albums for same-sex couples. So I wrote and produced two albums: ‘Men in Love…’ and ‘Women in Love…’. After this week’s potential historic ruling, I am thrilled that there will be freedom in Nebraska to marry who you want. And hopefully soon, all states will allow gay marriage.
Michael Jamrock, owner of www.ENGAYGEDWEDDINGS.com and producer of several TV shows, commented about a wedding song on her album – ‘the Rest of My Life’. “She absolutely nailed the same-sex marriage message!”
“I have donated 1,000 CD’s to various national and local LGBT organizations who are valiantly fighting for the rights of their members to live the way they want,” Javitch added.
Chuck Pennington, music conductor of the Grammy-award winning group Mannheim Steamroller, arranges Karen’s music. “Karen’s songs on these albums are a testament to her passion for the LGBT cause. She is an inspiration to me, as she is constantly coming up with new ideas to reach people through her music.”
Karen has released 13 CD’s, written 4 musicals and is the creator and co-host of a popular Omaha radio show, “It’s the Beat.” She has raised over $350,000 for national and local charities though her original music. Her musicals, including one about the late Princess Diana, have been performed in Kansas City, Los Angeles, Lincoln, Chicago, New York City, St. Paul and St. Louis as well as Omaha. She has won the TAG (Theater Arts Guild) Award two times and recently she received honorable mention in the ‘Song of the Year’ contest for her song “It’s a Steve Jobs’ World!” Some of her youtube videos have gone viral and her musicals and songs are performed by young people in high schools and colleges around the country. Karen’s “topical” music includes songs about exercising, celebrities, holidays, political figures, children, math, divorce, patriotism, love and family. Anyone between the ages of 5 to 105 will enjoy them!
