Billy McGuigan, Tara Vaughan: Fantastic musician and singer and producer of 3 hit national rock shows, Billy brings with us Tara Vaughan, his keyboard player. You can rock out to his show, “Yesterday and Today” at the Omaha Community Playhouse until Dec. 31st! Don’t miss this highly energetic and creative show, where they will play your favorite Beatles song by request!
Susan Eustice: The director of PR and Communications for The Salvation Army Western Division, based in Omaha. This includes 28 centers across NE, SD and western Iowa. Today at Shadow Lake volunteers will ring bells in Center Court from 1- 4pm. On Dec. 20 at Village Pointe’s Center Court, tv and radio personalities will ring bells from 1 – 3 pm. The Salvation Army needs support from everyone, for they are behind this year in reaching their goal.
Lisa Pelto: She is the founder of Concierge Publishing, an organization that will help you publish your own book! It is their ten year anniversary and they offer editing, proofing, product development and market research. This means they will make sure your book is placed in the correct markets and priced correctly. They have an award-winning design team who will design the perfect cover for your book. Concierge works with all types of books, but primarily nonfiction and children’s books.

Kathy Andersen: She is the host of Omaha’s monthly TEDx Salon. TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a global non-profit whose mission is to foster “ideas worth spreading” by building a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and with each other. Bringing 50 to 75 people each month, Omaha community members meet to discuss big ideas and relate them to our community. The next TED event is Monday, December 8, 6-7:30p/m at KANECO, 1111JOnes St. The topic is Inspiration and Anti-Inspiration. It is free and you need to register beforehand.
Kristine Gerber, Larry Good: Kristine is the editor and Larry is one of the writers of “The Ranch Bowl, A Party Every Night”. The book is a literary and pictorial toast to Omaha. It is a shout out to a place that entertained Omaha from 1957 to 2005. “Presidents Kennedy, Carter and Clinton made stops at the Ranch Bowl to explore, kick off and conduct campaigns because, like everybody knew, regardless of decade or purpose, the Ranch Bowl was where it was at.” “The Ranch Bowl” is a great holiday gift for anyone who has lived here. There is a book signing Saturday at the Bookworm from 1:00 – 3:00.
Andy Greenberg: Andy is one of the most listened to speakers in America as a result of his “Your Daily High with Andy Greenberg”.. He is also a national motivational TV/Radio Personality and author of “Your HIgh with Andy Greenberg”. You can watch Andy on TV on Saturday mornings at 10:00 interviewing inspirational people in Omaha.

Mauro Fiore: He is an Italian-American cinematographer who now resides in Omaha with his family. He won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography for the 2009 film, ‘Avatar’. He just finished working on the movie, ‘Equalizer’ with Denzell Washington. Other films he has worked on are ‘Training Day’, ‘Tears of the Sun’ and ‘The Kingdom’.
Kathy Tyree: She is Omaha’s ‘Queen of Soul’ and is performing “The Women I love to Sing” tonight at the Preston Love Jazz Center. Some of the ‘women’ she is singing are Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, and Aretha Franklin. She received rave reviews for ‘Ella’ at the Omaha Community Playhouse – channeling the musical icon and diva, Ella Fitzgerald.
Karen Sokolof Javitch: Co-host of ‘It’s the Beat’, Jody interviews Karen about her various music and musicals. Karen shares with us her love of songwriting and the outstanding singers and musicians she has worked with in Omaha.

Thira Kanti and Joe Higgs: Joe works for the Institute for Public Leadership and is affiliated with OTOC – Omaha Together One Community. Thira is a refugee who came from Burma 5 years ago. They have organized the 3rd annual Refugee Cultural Night which is tonight, at the First United Methodist Church. Starting at 5:30 pm, there will be light snacks and dance performances from various countries from 6 – 8 pm.
Chris Olson & Charissa Hauge: They are involved with Heartland Family Service. This Thursday is the 2014 Salute to Families Nebraska. These families that will be honored represent strong family life in our community.
Dr. Carol Frey: She is the author of ‘Don’t Worry My Mom is the Team Doctor’. Dr. Frey is an orthopedic surgeon who discusses practical tips to help young athletes, their parents and coaches treat, recover from and prevent sports injuries.

Joy Johnson: Joy and her husband, Dr. Marvin Johnson founded two non-profits in Omaha: Centering Corporation and Ted E. Bear Hollow. Joy is a nationally-known speaker and has written or edited more than 100 books on grief, mostly for children. Her most recent book is ‘The BOOB Girls VI: From the Eye of the Moose’.
Justice Jamaal Jones: He is a sophomore at Millard North High School. Justice has been involved in many productions around the Omaha metro area. He now has a major role in ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ at the Rose Theatre. This show is an exciting, spine-tingling thriller with stunning special effects for children over age 7.
Marco LeRoc – He is the author of ‘Cash in With Your Money’. Marco helps people discover the best of themselves, so they can focus and achieve what is most important to them. He guides millennials to succeed in the areas of personal finance and personal development.

Matt and Ben Tompkins: Two brothers that started a sketch comedy show, like Saturday Night Live. ‘Omaha Live!’ airs at midnight following Saturday Night Live every week on WOWT NBC Omaha! (Channel 6) The brothers are hilarious and write their own material.
Scott Kurz: He is one of the founders of Bridget St. Bridget Theatre in Omaha. Scott is an actor who recently appeared in ‘Chicago Fire’ on tv and he impressed us by telling us he was the second choice to play Chris O’Donnell’s part in ‘Scent of a Woman’. He auditions all over the country for movies and tv! Go Scott!
Brian Kent: Since it was Halloween last night, we wanted to have Brian on. He is a Paranormal investigator, author and speaker and founder of Paracon Investigation. On November 7th, Kent will teach the basics of how a paranormal investigation works at the Joslyn Caste from 7 – 11pm.

Warren Francke: UNO communications professor since 1966, his recent book is THE OMAHA COMMUNITY PLAYHOUSE STORY – a Theatre’s Historic Triumph. “Big stars, big names, villains and divas make a fascinating book and a great gift for theatre buffs.”
Angel Martin: She is the Director for Girls Inc. at the Katherine Fletcher Center. Their main fundraiser is this Wed., Oct. 29th and features President Bush’s twin daughters, Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush Hager. Angel is the moderator for this exciting event.
Bruce Crawford: Omaha Film Historian who will host his 35th tribute to classic films with a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s THE BIRDS! The star of this movie – Tippi Hedren will be there on Friday November 7th at Joslyn Art Museum to speak and sign autographs.

This show is dedicated to a good friend of ours, Terri Ware, who lost her life last week from lung cancer. Terri has worked tirelessly with her husband, Tom, in building their recording studio business. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tom and their daughter, Rachel.
Brenda Allen: We have never had anyone like Brenda on ‘It’s the Beat’ before. She is a vibrant country western singer and guitar player who was a friend of Johnny Cash. She speaks about her first meeting with Johnny. Listen to the very talented Brenda sing some of his songs and tell some hilarious stories about country western life in the old days!
Susan Thomas: she is the Executive Director of the Omaha Creative Institute, which is a 501c3 that focuses on support of the arts in our region. Their big fundraiser is Tuesday, November 18th and will feature 4 well-known artists from Nebraska.

Nik Fackler: The multi-talented film director and singer joins us to speak about his new film, ‘Sick Birds Die Easy’. The newly-married Nik traveled to Africa to film this experimental documentary ,based around white privilege and ancient religions. Nik made his directorial debut with the feature film, ‘Lovely, Still’. He is in a band, ‘Icky Blossoms’ and they just released their debut album on Saddle Creek Records. There is a special premiere screening and post party at Film Streams on Thursday, October 16 at 7:30.
Karin Campbell: Karin is Joslyn’s Curator of Contemporary Art. She is personally responsible for bring their newest exhibition: ‘In Living Color: Andy Warhol and Contemporary Printmaking’ to the Joslyn. There will be a 3-month run of this artful collection of treasures.
Roxanne Wach: She is a multi-faceted artist who has performed, designed and directed on many Omaha stages over the past 44 years. Currently the executive director of Shelterbelt, Roxanne is featuring ‘Mickey and Sage’ at the theatre from now until November 2. Right after this show, the Shelterbelt is hosting: ‘The Memory House: a playwriting workshop’ with New York playwright, Sara Farrington.

Tory Nixon: Since 2007, Tory has been a stand-up comic throughout the Midwest as well as a co-writer of jokes for radio stations. He has appeared in C.S.I. Miami and American Dreams and he is writing his first sketch comedy show for theatres in Nebraska.
Erin Cox: She is the ‘Event Director’ at Omaha Magazine and has planned a fun ‘Best of Omaha’ event today starting at 3:00 at the Ralston Arena. This event will showcase the winners from the magazine’s Best of Omaha contest. There will be live entertainment, including singing by Karen Javitch’ group, ‘Karen & Friends’.
Debbie Gray & Tammy Olson: Two ‘Mommies’ on a Mission! Authors of ‘Alex Chan and His Balanced Body Bands!’ This creative book along with the colorful bands are used for healthy eating and positive behaviors. Debbie Gray is a former Mrs. Nebraska winner and a personal trainer. Tammy is a mental health therapist and instructional designer. She co-authored ‘Heaven Cents’.

Jeremy Lipschultz: He is a leading thinker on social media. His book is ‘Social Media Communication: Concepts, Practices, Data, Law and Ethics.’
Janie Peterson: She and her husband, Roger founded ‘Behaven Kids’ in 2000. They have helped children and families work through behavioral challenges for more than 3 decades. Their mission is to “passionately teach effective skills that change children’s lives and ultimately change our future.” Janie has authored two books: ‘The Sleep Fairy’ and ‘Mini Methods or Madness’.
Rachel Gilmore: Rachel debuts with Opera Omaha as Gilda in “Rigoletto”. ‘Rigoletto’ is the story of a court jester protecting his daughter from the lecherous Duke of Mantua – the man she loves and the man Rigoletto hates! She recently reprised the role of Alice in ‘Alice in Wonderland’ with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Jeff Koterba: A cartoonist, writer and a musician. You can see Jeff’s drawings every day in the Omaha World-Herald. He recently finished his book of cartoon collections: ‘Koterba Drawing You In’ and he has a book signing coming up at the Bookworm.
Thomas Wilkins: He is the music director of the Omaha Symphony since 2005 and the guest conductor of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Thomas is devoted to promoting a life-long enthusiasm for music.
Nancy Lepo, Madalyn Bruning: Nancy is primarily a pen and ink artist and Madalyn is a watercolor painter. Next Saturday morning, September 27th, Nancy will create origami shapes (so can you) and Madalyn will share her watercolor painting at an event at the Omaha Creative Institute.

Dr. Viv Ewing, Kenny D. McMorris, Kathy Tyree: They all work for the Charles Drew Health Center, which presents: America’s Healthy Chef – Spending the Evening with Chef Marvin Woods, on Tuesday, September 23 at the Hilton Omaha at 6:00pm. You will learn about wine tasting, nutrition and cooking techniques. Kenny is the CDHC’s new Chief Executive Officer. Viv is the President and CEO of the ALZHEIMER’S Association.
Amy McCae: Holistic Health Expert, Speaker and Life Coach. She was ill for nearly 10 years, and then healed herself through natural methods. Amy is a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Sports Visualization Specialist and Certified Mind Body Fitness Coach.
Katie Edwards: Passionate singer and Omaha performer. She was a lead singer in a country cover band. Music runs in her family, as her dad is a singer and guitar player. She wants to go into singing Christian music.

Lin Leahy: She is an Omaha chef who aims to throw the world’s biggest spaghetti dinner to help fight hunger – September 21, from 11am to 3pm in 13 serving sites in Omaha. They hope to raise $100,000 for the Food Bank for the Heartland.
Melissa Marvin: She is the general Chairman of the 2014 Lauritzen Gardens Antique and Garden Show, September 12 – 21. Activities, lectures and learning opportunities all three days.
Stephanie Hillier: She is an improv comedienne, performing comedy for over 12 years. She also teaches stand up and improv classes for adults at the Omaha Community Playhouse.

Pippa White: Pippa is an actress, storyteller and speaker. Audiences call her performances unique, captivating and touching. She blends her theatrical talent with her love of history to create marvelous stories that entertain and instruct. Her shows include: ‘the Story of the Orphan Train’, ‘Voices from Ellis Island’, and ‘On Our Own Soil’, to name a few.
Tracy Wells & Maurice Kimsey: Tracy is the director of volunteers for ‘Partnership 4 Kids’ and Maurice is a mentor for the program. He mentors four 8th grade male students at Monroe Middle School.
Nancy Feldman & Rebecca Crofoot: They are the authors of ‘Family Medical History: Unknown/Adopted’. Nancy was happy with the loving family she had and never took an interest in finding her biological parents until diagnosed with a disease that she passed onto her son. She wrote to the NE Children’s Home Society for help in finding her birth parents and was assigned to Rebecca Crofoot. Thus began the 17 year journey between the two women.

Paul Schneider: “Enron” is a satirical comedy showing the collapse of the Enron Corporation. Paul is ‘Ken Lay’ one of the main characters in this tragedy, now showing at the Omaha community Playhouse. Enron is “well-acted, smartly staged, verbally and visually bursting with ideas”. Paul is an adjunct professor of English at Bellevue University. The show runs through Septrmber 14.
Milt Kleinberg: He is the author of “Bread or Death – Memories of My Childhood During and After the Holocaust”. Mr. Kleinberg recounts his childhood as a Polish Jew during the Holocaust era. “Bread or Death” is a true story of survival, resilience and redemption.
Dori Settles: Dori is an artist who opened ‘Smiling Turtle Art Spot’ in west Omaha in late summer, 2013 with two business partners. This art center incorporates gallery, classroom and studio space for multiple artists. There are art classes, camps and retreats and art parties for all ages.

Matt Whipkey: A critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, guitarist and bandleader from Omaha. He is performing at the Maha Festival in Omaha this weekend and plays one of his songs for us on the show. His newest album is titled “Penny Park”.
Drew Duncan: He is an opera singer who has performed as a tenor soloist in multiple shows around the country. His other talents include playing the piano, saxophone, oboe and percussion.
Kathy Tyree: Omaha’s premiere musical icon, who has been singing professionally for thirty years. If you haven’t heard her sing, you are really missing something! She just starred in ‘Ella’ at the OCP. Kathy ‘ has a very special, powerful way of expressing herself through her music,” Says Susie Collins, director of ‘Ella’. She has a show this weekend, “The Men I Love to Sing” at the Love Jazz and Arts Center.

Ritch Cassidy: Marketing Director of the Ralston Arena. He is bringing the ‘Superstar Legends Tribute Music Fest to Omaha the August 15th and 16th, featuring tributes to Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston and the Beatles.
Karen Javitch: Jody interviews her co-host about her songwriting and musical career. You’ll get to hear some of Karen’s latest recordings.
Nick Hudson: Co-founder of Omaha Fashion Week, which will start its 7th year on Monday, August 18th. This week long show is a professional platform to showcase the work of regional independent fashion designers and has become the Midwest’s largest fashion event.

Brandon Miller: Organizer of the Hullabaloo Festival in Omaha and member of the Kris Lager Band. The band plays soul music and Boogie Trance. Their new album is called: ‘Swagadocious’.
Marcia Kapustin: She is a multi-talented video production specialist spanning 25 years and multiple industries. She has produced live and online video content for Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, James Taylor The Eagles and more. She is currently traveling with Paul McCartney on his world-wide tour.
Dan McCollister: A Westside High School graduate, Dan lives in LA where he is the lead singer in the indie rocker band ‘City City’. Check out their first official video – ‘I Don’t Dance’.

Ryan Tewell: Creative Director of the Apollon theater on 18th Vinton. The Apollo Moon landing took place 45 years ago, and the Apollon Theatre has a special show in honor of that milestone. Matt Uehling is the stage director for “The Eagle has Landed: An Apollo 11 Tribute”. June 18-26.
Melissa Wurth: Do Omaha Girls Rock? They sure do as Melissa is the Executive Director of Omaha Girls Rock! – a week long day camp where 53 girls learn the basics of guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, vocals and songwriting. Then they form there own bands and perform at the Slowdown which is tonight! they gain confidence,k as some of themn have never been on stage.
The Weisenheimers Improvisational Comedy Troupe: Monty Eich and Cullen Chollett. These two hilarious comedians are joining forces with 3 others to appear at the Slowdown on Sunday, July 27th at 8:00pm to benefit the residents of Pilger, NE. They have been performing around the Heartland for over 15 years.

Shelley Wilson: Children’s author of the “Mokie and Kade” series, two new adorable books for young readers about a boy and his puppy. The first one is titled ‘Puppy Love’ and the second one “Backyard Adventure.’ There are also informational videos that relate to each book. Saturday, August 9th is her book launch party at The Green Spot – at The Shoppes at Aksarben. Free ice cream for you and your four-legged friend!
Amanda DeBoer Barlett: She is a classically trained soprano who brings music to audiences all over the world. Born and raised in Omaha, she is the coordinator of ‘Omaha Under the Radar’ – bringing together a mix of local and nonlocal performers in multiple locations in Omaha, July 10-13. Amanda incorporates storytelling, movement and multimedia. Her beautiful voice is a delight to hear.
Tony Bock: Can Tony Bock be put into mere words? We will try. He started performing as a precocious stand-up comedian at the Funny Bone in Omaha and the Midwest. This led to an internship at the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’. Laugh with Tony as he tells of his comedic adventures and the future ones when he moves back to LA.

Marcia Forecki: A prolific author, her first book, ‘Speak to Me’, is a first person account of discovering her son’s profound deafness. Her novel for middle grade readers is ‘Better Thank Magic’. Alex Jochim, Jaime Hardy: Co-founders and organizers of ‘Benson First Friday’, a monthly local art extravaganza in Omaha! They also began ‘Petshop Studio’ in Benson, where artists work alongside one another and feed off of each others’ ideas. Every first Friday of the month in Benson, come and see lots going on in the art and music world, starting at 4:00 and continuing through the evening.
Nellie MacCullum: Marketing Director for ‘Shakespeare on the Green’ In Elmwood Park. A Shakespeare enthusiast, she prepares for the other Nebraska Shakespeare programs throughout the year. She is excited that last April was his 450th birthday! Happy birthday William!

Nancy Schulze: Heartland Family Services and Sara Sabaliauskas – Development Coordinator for the “Strike a Chord” fundraising event. All proceeds from this June 27th event will benefit the Heartland Family Service programs in southwest Iowa. Come and hear the music of DeJa Blu!
Karen Sokolof Javitch: The founder and co-host of ‘It’s the Beat!’, she speaks about her two new albums, “Men in Love…” and “Women in Love…” Karen wrote and produced these albums in support of the LGBT Community in this country. Listen to some of Karen’s favorite songs from these two innovative CD’s.
Chris Raabe: He is a 7th grade English teacher with students who didn’t like to read. He asked them if they would read a book if he wrote one for them…thus he wrote “The Phenomenon Trilogy” – 3 books for young male readers: ‘The New Phenomenon”, “On the Run” and “End Game” The first book begins, “After a terrifying accident, Christian finds out he is one of the Phenomenon children, each of them possessing a special gift.”

Pat Hazell – Omaha-born, Pat was one of the original writers on Seinfeld and a regular on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. The OCP presents a limited run of his show, ‘The Wonder Bread Years’ from June 13 – 29. Jerry Seinfeld called it “milk-snorting funny” while LA weekly called it “infectiously charming.”
Billy McGuigan – A national super-talent who brings you ready- to-rock and roll shows! Buddy Holly, the Beatles and more! He is bringing his shows home to Bellevue East High School. Last year at Turner Park, more than 10,000 people came to rock with him! Go Billy!!!!!
Van Jensen – Small-town Nebraska native – now big-time comic book writer. He started writing for DC’s “Green Lantern Corps” last year. Now he writes the DC title: ‘The Flash”. Living in Atlanta now, he is very busy with Superheroes!

Rachel Jacobson: Founder of Film Streams Ruth Sokolof Theater, the metro area’s only nonprofit arthouse film theater. “Our mission is to enhance the cultural environment of the Omaha – Council Bluffs area through the presentation and discussion of film as an art form. Alexander Payne is a huge part of making this endeavor succeed.” This theater will have its 7th anniversary this July.
Adam Van Osdel: Exhibit Coordinator and Special Projects Designer at the Durham Museum. The ‘Design Zone’ exhibit examines math and its application in the world of design, presented in a way that is understanding and fun. This exhibit runs through September 14th.
John Stanfield: A retired US Army officer, he has written a science fiction – fantasy novel depicting a broken man’s journey to recovery from post-traumatic stress disorder. “Faerevold – Nils’ Passage” is the title of his new novel.

JP Hansen: He is a bestselling author of three books, a professional speaker and life coach. For the past 20 years he has helped thousands of people find their dream jobs. His books include “The Bliss List – The Ultimate Guide to Living the Dream at Work and Beyond!”, “The Bliss List Journal” and his new novel – “Pink Slips and Glass Slippers”, which became number 1 on Amazon within its first week.
Barb Malek: Barb has always been fascinated by a love of the written word – especially stories of real people portraying great courage. Thus her dream was realized this year with the release of her first novel, “Soft Like Steel.” The novel is based on the life of her beloved grandmother, who managed to raise 8 children during the Dust Bowl in 1930’s Nebraska without her husband, who abandoned his family.
Matt Gutschick: Artistic Director of The Rose Theater. Matt is responsible for choosing “Tarzan” to be performed at The Rose from June 6 – 22. Accompanying Matt is the humorous Walter Shatley, who plays the roles of Clayton and Father in “Tarzan”. The music and lyrics in the show are by Phil Collins.

Robin Donovan: Who said advertising executives can’t be funny? Robin Donovan is the author of “Is it Still Murder, Even if She Was a Bitch?” – a lighthearted romp through murder. Her next book will be called, “I didn’t kill her but that my have been shortsighted.”

Andy Greenberg: He is promoting the world-wide premiere of the Christian film, ‘A Long Way Off”. The movie is a modern day retelling of the timeless Prodigal Son Parable. Both he and Karen Javitch are in the movie. Karen is singing her ‘Coffee Shop’ song.
Daena Schweiger: In 2002, her first full length play, ‘Love is Strange’, was produced by the Shelterbelt Theatre. She has also directed 21 full length productions and appeared in over 10 plays. Her newest play, ‘Voices from the Closet’ premieres at SNAP Productions on May 29 and will run through June 22, 2014.
Todd Brooks: He is a graphic artist, but moonlights as an award-winning director, arranger, writer and actor. Todd sings and plays the piano for a cabaret show he does with Mary Carrick. He is currently President of SNAP Productions and is one of the directors of “Voices from the Closet’.
Nila Nielsen: “Kids laugh up to 300 times a day…while adults only average 5 to 7 times! Isn’t it time to find the kid in you?” Thus says Nila Nielsen, who was a teacher,

Matthias Jeske: “Mister 1960 – he’s unique, retro, weird-looking and he doesn’t mind a bit!” He’s also hilarious as he impersonates the presidents and does a heck of a JFK impersonation! He loves the music of 50 years ago and plays those songs on his radio show. “When I go on the air, Mister 1960 is who I wish I was – cool, hip and confident – everything I’m not in real life.”
Karen Schutte: About 8 years ago, Karen felt compelled to record her family’s history of German immigration. The unexpected result was her first novel: ‘The Ticket’, which won a writing award in 2013. Her second family saga novel is ‘Seed of the Volga’, and she will be speaking about this book this July in Lincoln. “Writing to me is a cherished gift that I have pursued with gusto.” ‘Flesh on the Bone’ is third in the trilogy and will be out this summer.

Susan Baer Collins: She and her ex-husband, Carl Beck have enriched the Omaha theater scene for 30 years! The Omaha Community Playhouse will never be the same, as they are both retiring in June from being the Director and Associate Artistic Director, respectively. ‘Ella’ is playing now at the Omaha Community Playhouse and Susie’s last show will be ‘Frankenstein the Musical’! She will continue to act and teach and they will both receive the ‘GAA Outstanding Artists Awards’ on Tuesday March 25th.

Camille Metoyer-Moten: She is the “most versatile singer in Omaha” and a very accomplished actress, winning all of the awards at the Omaha Community Playhouse! Camille received rave reviews for her latest show at the OCP – ‘Having our Say’ – which is about the Delaney sisters, and she plays her role with her real life sister, Lanette.
Rachel Shukert: Rachel is a very prolific writer who just finished her fourth book: ‘Love Me’, the second in a series of books about Hollywood in the 1930’s. The first in the series is ‘Starstruck’ and this writer (Karen) couldn’t put it down! “This sizzling sequel (Love Me) definitely delivers the goods: think ‘Valley of the Dolls’ meets ‘Gossip Girl’. Rachel is from Omaha and a Central High Graduate.
Rachel Jacobson: Rachel is the founder and director of Film Streams Ruth Sokolof Theater which opened in 2007. Film Streams purpose is to “Enhance the cultural environment of the Omaha-Council Bluffs area through the presentation and discussion of film as an art form.” This non-profit art-house theater has the involvement of Oscar – winner Alexander Payne.
