Jody Vinci has had over 25 years of executive management experience in the Travel and Hospitality industry.   She has done national voiceovers for Chase Bank, McDonalds, First Data and Mutual of Omaha.  Jody also appeared in 3 movies:  ‘About Schmidt’, ‘Citizen Ruth’ and ‘Lucky’.

In its promotional debut, over 100 radio stations downloaded the title track:  ‘What will my new life be like after the d-i-v-o-r-c-e?’

“I wrote these songs to evoke different emotions from women who are going through a divorce in the hopes that they will provide encouragement and some humor at this difficult time,” Javitch explains.  “I would like to think of this album as a ‘survival album’.   It is my hope that each woman in America whose marriage has ended in divorce is moved by both my music and my message in “Going Through the Big D.”  Having gone through a divorce myself, I would have loved for a friend to give me this CD.  I want other divorced women to know that they are not alone. ‘From Generation to Generation’ will be directed by Mik Cribben,a New York feature film director. The musical director is Melissa Boher Jacobson and the show will be   choreographed by Rhona Ross and Mary Cook.

In “From Generation to Generation” Rose Lieberman takes unusual steps to share her memorable life with a granddaughter she may never see,” explains Javitch. “The musical carries the audience along with Rose on her comical and inspiring journey to leave a touching memory of herself for all generations to come.”

The musical has been performed in Chicago, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Omaha to standing ovations.   The Chicago Tribune review said,“From Generation to Generation is about things that matter most in life – faith, traditionand family.”  The Omaha World-Herald adds, “This is a first-rate family show that Jewish theatergoers will especially enjoy – though everyone will respond to the universal themes celebrated here.”

Karen composed the wide variety of songs in ‘Generation’.   Her arranger, Chuck Penington, the musical conductor for ‘Mannhein Steamroller’ says of her show, “Generation is a touching and heartfelt musical that everyone needs to see.  It will stay with you forever, as will Karen’s wonderful songs.”

Tom Thompson, Senior Director of Developemnt at UNO commented “ When Karen first approached us with the idea and offered to fully fund all the expenses, we are elated to become part of the project.  All the planning, details and finally the show took about three months to prepare.  We are gratefull to all those who were part of the process, the hundreds who attended and of course all who contributed their funds and time.

“We are not done”  added Javitch.  We are planning to take the taped version of the show and produce a national telethon and have already began discussions with an outside company who has agreed to become part of the process.  The show will include songs by Tim Halperin, season 10 American Idol Top 12 male finalist, as well as many of the singers and dancers who were part of the evening. As a young singer/songwriter, Tim has taken the cancer cause to heart with a commitment beyond what is typical for a recent college graduate.  In 2011, he responded to the personal request of a breast cancer survivor to write his first song “We Fight Back” as a tribute to breast cancer survivors.  He performed it at Race for the Cure events around the country including the Global Race in Washington, DC and the St. Louis Race, the largest race in the United States. As the featured halftime entertainer for the Carolina Panthers/ New Orleans Saints breast cancer game and at the TCU vs. BYU game at Cowboys Stadium, Tim has inspired thousands with his lyrics of determination and hope.

 “Cross That Line,“Tim’s second song for Komen debuted at the Komen for the Cure International Affiliate Conference. Invitations to perform that song at Komen Race for the Cure events have already come from as far away as California and Puerto Rico. The song’s riveting melody and lyrics speak to the challenges of fighting cancer and a commitment to win the race. By being part of An Evening of Music to fight for those with pancreatic cancer, Tim demonstrates yet a new level of his dedication and determination to all who are in the cancer fight. 

Mrs. Javitch has also made it her life’s work to use music to celebrate causes in which she believes.  Throughout her career, she  has used her talents to raise  over $280,000 for charities.  She is supportive of Michelle Obama’s efforts to get our youth moving.  “Music is a huge influence on kids and teens. For that reason I wrote “Shake it For NObesity,” Javitch explained. “I want to inspire kids to eat healthy and to get up and move! We hope to get the audience ‘rockin’ to good health!”

“Any TV, radio and newspaper outlet may play “Awesome Omaha” (attached) without fees, royalties or any compensation. My song tells the rest of the country what a great city Omaha is,” Javitch explained. “A video version is broadcast on Omaha TV during the Warren Buffet annual Berkshire meetings, so why shouldn’t the rest of the country know about us as Peyton Manning screams out “Omaha-Omaha!”

“So many influential magazines have listed Omaha as a great place to raise families and start a business, noting that the cost of living is low and so many other positives. Being born and raised in Omaha, I say in my song that Omaha “lives in my heart and my soul.”

A film, theatre, television actress and vocalist, Lydia made her debut at age 7 in the Sanford Health “Same Day” commercial series. Subsequently, she originated the role of Raylene in the short film “Recollection” (directed by Madeline Lynch), appeared at age 8 in Benson Theatre’s world premiere stage adaptation of “The Shining” She was also in The Durham Museum’s promotional film, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” and in 2016, recorded her first children’s single, Karen SokolofJavitch’s, “I’m Not the Little Kid I Used to Be,” following voiceover work on area radio spots.
